Architecture At the Edge Festival, Galway / October 2022 – 2023 / Drawing/Workshop

This series of workshops were run as part of the annual Architecture At the Edge festival in Galway city, with participants invited to contribute to a collective map of Galway city centre. The large-scale drawings made in 2022 recorded an inspiring range of observations about the city in that moment, from the sounds and smells on the street to the cost and amount of tourist accommodation and the lack of access to public toilets. The second iteration in 2023 built on the first; participants were given simple elevation drawings of the city centre streets and recorded either the past, present, or imagined futures of those streetscapes. The resulting elevations were arranged to form a set-like model on top of the drawing from the previous year, layering record, method and time within the space of the Micky Lally Theatre.
